A visible resort eyewear display can underperform because visibility does not guarantee guest relevance, appropriate seasonal inventory, product availability, or fast replenishment.
Audit the five operating layers
- Guest relevance: Does the mix fit climate, pool, golf, outdoor, travel, and reading needs?
- Access: Can guests browse without blocking resort service paths?
- Availability: Are proven sunglass styles and common reader powers in stock?
- Assortment: Is the mix aligned with occupancy, activity, and season?
- Execution: Are claims documented, the mirror usable, and replenishment owned?
Read the pattern
- Low interaction suggests placement or weak guest relevance.
- Try-ons without sales suggests fit, style, price, or product communication.
- Strong demand with stockouts suggests shallow depth or slow replenishment.
- High inventory after a season suggests duplication or overbuying.
Correct one variable at a time
First restore core inventory. Then test placement, seasonal depth, style mix, reader allocation, or price communication separately. Compare similar occupancy and weather periods.
What to measure
- guest requests and try-ons
- occupancy and weather-linked sales
- sunglass style and reader-power availability
- reorders and replenishment speed
- seasonal inventory age
Ordinary sunglasses should not be represented as certified protective eyewear unless specifically rated.
