A visible farm, feed, or rural-store eyewear display can underperform when customers cannot browse near the counter, practical reader powers are missing, or the mix does not reflect outdoor work and local demand.
Audit the five operating layers
- Practical relevance: Does the assortment serve labels, measurements, outdoor work, weather, and replacement needs?
- Access: Can customers browse without blocking service counters, carts, or yard traffic?
- Availability: Are common powers and useful sunglass styles in stock?
- Assortment: Does the mix fit local customers and seasonal work patterns?
- Execution: Are labels, product claims, backstock, mirror access, and refill ownership clear?
Read the pattern
- Low interaction suggests placement or relevance.
- Interaction without sales suggests power, style, price, or fit.
- Seasonal sales with gaps suggests replenishment or shallow depth.
- A full rack with weak reorders suggests functional stockouts or duplication.
Correct one variable at a time
Restore availability, then test placement, power depth, sunglass mix, seasonal allocation, or price communication separately. Compare more than one work period.
What to measure
- reader-power movement and gaps
- seasonal sunglass demand
- customer requests
- reorders and inventory age
- counter or aisle interference
Ordinary sunglasses and over-the-counter readers are not certified safety equipment.
