Protect the reader powers that matter
Use early sell-through and stockout history to identify which powers need duplicate units. A full-looking rack can still fail the customer if common powers are absent.
How to size the refill layer
- cover expected demand through normal supplier lead time
- deepen repeatedly selected reader powers
- keep sunglass backstock selective unless local demand proves otherwise
- add modest buffers around known high-traffic periods when warranted
Keep storage accessible
Gift-shop staff should be able to find refill inventory quickly. Label by power and category and avoid mixed boxes that make the stock difficult to use.
Reorder before functional stockouts persist
Use on-hand by power, not just total on-hand. Reorder when a power cannot cover expected demand through the next delivery.
