Independent pharmacies should use countertop displays for a compact front-end reader test and floor displays when the store needs enough power breadth and category depth to serve customers consistently.
Countertop works when
- front-end space is tight
- the pharmacy wants a small pilot
- the assortment is limited to core powers or styles
Floor works when
- the store has repeat reader demand
- power breadth is important
- sunglasses are also part of the program
- the fixture can sit outside prescription and checkout flow
Do not undersize functional demand
A tiny display can look efficient but fail if customers cannot find the power they need.
Over-the-counter readers are not a substitute for professional eye care or prescribed lenses.
